We had the privilege of welcoming the Deputy Mayor of Gateshead Councillor Freda Geddes and her consort Councillor Alex Geddes to our school. They came in to talk all about their role and responsibilities in Gateshead. They also brought with them their Mace bearer Ken Jobling. We learnt all about the magnificent mace and its history and the robes the Deputy Mayor was wearing. The children asked some fantastic questions and learnt so much.
